Beautiful polychrome plaster statue representing Saint Ignatius of Loyola (1491–1556), the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits).
The saint is depicted wearing a richly decorated golden chasuble while holding an open book inscribed with his famous motto:
“Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam”
