Polychrome Plaster Statue of Saint Ignatius of Loyola

Beautiful polychrome plaster statue representing Saint Ignatius of Loyola (1491–1556), the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits).

The saint is depicted wearing a richly decorated golden chasuble while holding an open book inscribed with his famous motto:

“Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam”
(For the Greater Glory of God)
